First indigenous doctor

It had wide repercussion in the media, specially on UFPA’s Webpage, the defendant of the thesis of the indigenous student Almires Martins Machado, of the Guarani ethnic group, the first indigenous person to receive a doctorate degree from the Federal University of Pará, with the work "De Sonhos ao ao Oguatá Guassú: in search of the Evil-Free Land(s)". The presentation took place on November 20, 2015, in a crowded room of the Congregation at the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences (IFCH), with the presence of professors, students and other indigenous people, as well as the local television press. A milestone for the inclusion of the indigenous population in UFPA. The work of Almires, guided by Professor Jane Beltrão, spoke about the history of his people.
